Kogi Police affirm the release of 14 travelers kidnapped en route to Abuja.


The Kogi State Police Command has verified the release of 14 Abuja-bound travelers who were abducted in the state last Friday. 

The passengers, traveling in buses belonging to GIG and ABC Transport companies, were kidnapped at Inyenle, Ogugu in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State while en route from the Eastern part of the country. 

SP William Aya, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), confirmed the development on Thursday evening. 

However, he could not confirm whether any ransom was paid for the release of the kidnapped victims. 

The Police spokesperson also did not provide details on how the victims regained their freedom but mentioned that it was the result of combined efforts involving the Military, Police, hunters, and vigilantes that led to the successful rescue operation. 

SP Aya stated, "I can confirm that all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors and ABC transport have regained freedom. Although whether ransom was paid was not mentioned."
