APC Pledges to Capture Anambra, Abia, and Enugu in Future Elections

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party has vowed to wrest control of the southeastern states of Anambra, Abia, and Enugu from the opposition in upcoming elections.

APC chieftains, including Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, have publicly stated the party's intention to convert these states into APC strongholds.  The party believes it can capitalize on internal divisions within the incumbent parties to make inroads in the region.

However, the APC's plans have faced pushback, with the party recently vowing to "get justice" for a jailed opposition lawmaker in Enugu state.  This suggests the political battle for the southeast will be fiercely contested.

The APC's ambitions to expand its foothold in the southeast come as the party seeks to consolidate its national dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections. Controlling key states in the region would bolster the party's influence and resources.

Whether the APC can successfully execute its southeastern offensive remains to be seen, as the opposition parties in Anambra, Abia and Enugu are likely to mount a robust defense of their political turf. The outcome of this regional power struggle will have significant implications for Nigeria's political landscape in the years ahead.
