FCT Minister Wike Announces Construction of 40 Houses for Justices
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the construction of 40 houses for justices of the Appeal Court and Federal High Court in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Wike made this disclosure during a recent event. The construction of the houses is seen as a move to provide suitable accommodation for the justices serving in the FCT.
The announcement comes just months after Wike's wife, Justice Suzzette Eberechi Wike, was promoted to the Appeal Court bench. Some have questioned the timing of the housing project announcement in relation to his wife's promotion.
However, Wike has stated that the housing project is part of the Tinubu administration's efforts to improve the welfare of judicial officers across the country. The 40 houses will be allocated to justices of the Appeal Court and Federal High Court stationed in Abuja.
The construction of the houses is expected to commence soon, as the FCT Minister has directed the relevant agencies to begin the necessary preparations. The project is part of the ongoing efforts to enhance the living conditions of judicial officers and ensure they can effectively carry out their duties.
