Kwara United Parts Ways with 22 Players Ahead of New NPFL Season

Kwara United Football Club has parted ways with 22 players as the club prepares for the upcoming 2024/2025 Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) season.

According to multiple credible reports, the Ilorin-based club has released a significant number of players from its squad as part of a major overhaul ahead of the new campaign.

The players let go by Kwara United include Abayomi Samuel from Shooting Stars, Jimi Iteji from Plateau United, as well as former youth international goalkeepers Kazeem Badmus and Adamu.

This mass exodus of 22 players is seen as a strategic move by the Kwara United management to reshape the team and bring in new talent to challenge for honors in the upcoming NPFL season.

The club has not officially confirmed the reasons behind the decision to part ways with such a large number of players. However, it is likely that the management is seeking to build a more competitive squad that can improve on their performance in the previous season.

Kwara United finished in the middle of the NPFL table last season, and the drastic changes to the playing personnel suggest the club is determined to mount a stronger challenge for a top-place finish in the 2024/2025 campaign.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on Kwara United to see how the team responds to this major overhaul and whether the influx of new players can translate into improved results on the pitch.
