PDP Slams Tinubu for Failing to Resolve Buhari-Era Problems in First Year
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accusing him of failing to address the problems inherited from the previous administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. The PDP claims that Tinubu's administration has not only failed to solve the issues caused by Buhari but has actually worsened the economic hardship faced by Nigerians.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, a member of the PDP, has also weighed in, stating that Tinubu has worsened Buhari's "horrible economic legacy" in his first year in office. Nigerians have expressed frustration with the current economic situation, characterized by hunger and rising food prices, and have labeled Tinubu's first year as a failure.
However, Bode George, a PDP chieftain, has urged Nigerians to give Tinubu one more year to fix the country's problems. George believes that Tinubu spent his first year in office studying Buhari's failures and will now work to address them.
The PDP's criticism of Tinubu's performance comes as the party seeks to position itself as a viable alternative in the upcoming 2027 general elections. The party's leaders have been vocal in their assessment of the current administration's shortcomings, particularly in the economic sphere.
