PDP Sweeps 24 of 25 Chairmanship Seats in Delta LGA Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has secured a landslide victory in the Delta State local government elections, winning 24 out of the 25 chairmanship seats up for grabs.

According to multiple credible news reports , the PDP candidates emerged victorious in 24 of the 25 local government areas (LGAs) in the state. The only seat not won by the PDP was secured by the African Peoples Movement (APM) party.

The PDP's dominance in the Delta LGA polls further consolidates the party's political control in the state. The party also won 499 of the 500 available councilor positions across the 25 LGAs .

The election results demonstrate the continued strength of the PDP in Delta State, where the party has maintained a firm grip on political power for years. The outcome is a significant boost for the party ahead of the 2027 general elections in Nigeria.

While the PDP's landslide victory was widely expected, the scale of their triumph has nonetheless underscored their political supremacy in the state. The results will embolden the party's ambitions to retain control of Delta in future state and national elections.
