Rwanda Coach Calls Group with Nigeria 'Tough' for 2025 AFCON Qualifiers
Rwanda head coach Torsten Frank Spitller has expressed his disappointment with being drawn in the same group as Nigeria for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Spitller described it as "tough" to be in the same group as the Super Eagles.
The Amavubi were drawn in Group C alongside Nigeria, Benin, and Libya. Spitller acknowledged the challenge of facing Nigeria, one of the powerhouses of African football. Rwanda will need to put in a strong effort to secure a top-two finish in the group and qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
Nigeria, the three-time African champions, will be the favorites to win Group C. The Super Eagles were drawn with Libya, Benin, and Rwanda. Coach Spitller's comments highlight the respect Nigeria commands in African football and the difficulty of the task ahead for Rwanda in their bid to reach the 2025 AFCON.
