Kwara Government Criticizes Saraki, Questions His Moral Authority on Local Government Elections

The Kwara State government has publicly criticized former Senate President Bukola Saraki, asserting that he lacks the moral standing to condemn the recent local government elections.

In a statement issued by the governor's office, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq's administration accused Saraki of engaging in provocative behavior and mischief, particularly in light of his absence from key state events since 2019.

The governor's Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, emphasized that Saraki's recent comments are self-serving and urged him to refrain from dragging the government into his controversies.

The statement highlighted the governor's commitment to inclusive governance and his efforts to maintain decorum in political discourse.

Governor AbdulRazaq’s administration has been marked by significant electoral victories, which they cite as evidence of public support for their leadership, contrasting it with Saraki's perceived disconnect from the electorate.

The ongoing tension between the two political figures reflects deeper divisions within Kwara State politics as the local government elections continue to be a contentious issue.
