Atiku Critiques 2025 Budget, Claims It Fails to Address Nigeria's Economic Challenges
Former Vice President **Atiku Abubakar** has criticized the **2025 budget** presented by President **Bola Tinubu**, stating it lacks the necessary structural reforms and fiscal discipline to tackle Nigeria's economic issues. He described the **₦49 trillion** budget as a flawed plan that continues unsustainable borrowing practices, with a projected deficit exceeding **₦13 trillion**. Atiku highlighted that **33%** of total expenditure will go towards debt servicing, nearly matching allocations for critical sectors like infrastructure and health. He warned that without addressing inefficiencies and prioritizing development, the budget could perpetuate economic stagnation and hardship for Nigerians.
