Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez Finalize Divorce After Two Years of Marriage
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have officially finalized their divorce, marking the end of their two-year marriage. The couple, affectionately known as "Bennifer," reached a settlement agreement on September 25, 2024, which was filed in court on December 31, 2024. The divorce will be legally recognized on February 20, 2025.
Lopez filed for divorce on August 20, 2024, coinciding with their second wedding anniversary, citing "irreconcilable differences." The couple initially tied the knot in a Las Vegas ceremony in July 2022, nearly two decades after their first engagement.
As part of the settlement, neither party will pay spousal support, and they will retain their individual assets accumulated during the marriage. Lopez will keep her iconic green diamond engagement ring valued at $5 million, while Affleck retains ownership of his production company, Artists Equity. They will also share proceeds from the sale of their $61 million Los Angeles mansion.
Despite the split, both Affleck and Lopez have maintained a cordial relationship and are committed to co-parenting their children from previous relationships. Lopez has expressed her desire to move forward positively as she reverts to her maiden name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
