Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems Nominated for 2025 NAACP Awards

The 2025 NAACP Image Awards nominations have been announced, and Nigerian music heavyweights Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Tems have made the list, further showcasing the global impact of Afrobeats. The prestigious awards, which celebrate outstanding achievements in film, television, music, and literature, have recognized these artists for their exceptional contributions to music over the past year.  

Burna Boy received nominations in the "Outstanding International Song" and "Outstanding Male Artist" categories for his chart-topping album *I Told Them*. Wizkid, known for his genre-defining sound, earned nods in the "Outstanding Collaboration" and "Outstanding World Music Album" categories for his latest work. Tems, who continues to make waves with her soulful voice, secured nominations in the "Outstanding Female Artist" and "Outstanding Songwriting" categories.  

This recognition highlights the growing influence of African artists on the global stage. The trio has been pivotal in popularizing Afrobeats, with Burna Boy and Wizkid consistently delivering hit albums and Tems gaining international acclaim through collaborations with global stars.  

Fans worldwide have expressed excitement over the nominations, with many predicting that this year’s awards will further solidify the dominance of African music on the international scene. The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony set to take place in Los Angeles later this year.
