Police and DSS Initiate Profiling of Communal Clash Sponsors in Akwa Ibom

 

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, in collaboration with the Department of State Security (DSS), has begun profiling individuals suspected of sponsoring recent communal clashes in the state. Commissioner of Police Baba Azare announced this initiative on January 8, 2025, emphasizing the need to identify and hold accountable those fueling violence between communities.

This move follows a series of violent confrontations in the region, which have raised concerns about security and public safety. The profiling aims to uncover the motivations behind these clashes and prevent further escalation. Authorities are committed to restoring peace and order in Akwa Ibom, as they work to address the underlying issues contributing to these conflicts.
