Call for Applications: WACSI Next Generation Internship Programme 2025 (Monthly Stipend Available)


The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI) has officially opened applications for its Next Generation Internship Programme (NGIP) 2025, a fully funded, six-month internship designed for young West Africans eager to gain practical experience in civil society work. This prestigious program will take place from July to December 2025, based at WACSI’s office in Accra, Ghana

Who Should Apply?

The internship targets early career professionals and fresh graduates with 0–3 years of experience from West African countries, including The Gambia, Liberia, and Burkina Faso. Ideal candidates are passionate about contributing to and learning from WACSI’s core areas: Capacity Development, Policy Influencing and Advocacy, and Knowledge Management

Internship Responsibilities

Selected interns will engage in a variety of meaningful tasks, including:

  • Designing and implementing institutional assessment tools and training support

  • Participating in program planning, proposal development, and budget monitoring

  • Organizing training sessions and liaising with partners and beneficiaries

  • Developing training materials such as toolkits and modules

  • Conducting research and producing briefings, reports, and policy documents

  • Assisting in policy meetings and advocacy training development

  • Supporting administrative and operational tasks as assigned by supervisors

  • A monthly stipend to cover living expenses

Eligibility and Language Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate a strong commitment to WACSI’s vision and values. Preference will be given to candidates proficient in English, French, or Portuguese, with working knowledge of at least one additional language. The internship requires full-time, on-site participation in Accra, and interns must commit to the entire six-month period. Those unable to complete the internship are required to refund the total cost of the package to WACSI
