JAMB Releases 1.26 Million UTME Results for April 17 and 18 Candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of 1.26 million results for candidates who sat for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) on April 17 and 18, marking a major milestone in the ongoing nationwide exercise.

Breakdown of the Results

According to the examination body, a total of 1,264,940 results from the two days have now been made available for candidates to check. This latest batch significantly increases the total number of released results so far to over 1.89 million

Earlier, JAMB had already released results for candidates who wrote the exam on April 16, showing a steady and phased approach to result publication.

Ongoing UTME Exercise

The UTME, one of Nigeria’s most important entrance examinations into tertiary institutions, continues to attract millions of candidates each year. The 2026 edition is no exception, with over two million candidates expected to participate across hundreds of computer-based test centres nationwide.

JAMB noted that the release of results is being done in batches to ensure proper verification and maintain the integrity of the examination process.

Issues and Concerns

Despite the progress, the examination process has not been without challenges. Some candidates earlier reported delays and technical issues at certain centres, prompting the board to reassure affected candidates that they would be rescheduled where necessary.

Additionally, there have been concerns over delayed access to results, with JAMB recently addressing complaints related to charges for result checking services.

What Candidates Should Do

Candidates who sat for the examination on the specified dates are advised to check their results through the official JAMB channels. The board also cautioned candidates to beware of fraudsters and avoid engaging in any form of result manipulation.

Conclusion

The release of over 1.26 million results underscores JAMB’s continued efforts to ensure a transparent and efficient examination process. As more results are expected in the coming days, candidates and stakeholders alike will be watching closely to assess overall performance trends and the smooth conduct of the 2026 UTME.
