‘One of the Best’ — JAMB Hails Mock UTME Despite Glitches
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has described the recently conducted Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as “one of the best”, despite reports of technical glitches in some centres.
JAMB Reacts to Mock UTME Performance
JAMB commended the overall conduct of the mock exam, noting that the exercise achieved its primary objective of testing the system ahead of the main UTME.
According to the board, the mock exam helped to:
Assess the readiness of Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres
Identify technical and operational challenges
Prepare candidates for the actual examination environment
Glitches Reported in Some Centres
Despite the positive assessment, JAMB acknowledged that some candidates experienced:
Login delays
System downtimes
Minor technical disruptions
The board attributed these issues to isolated technical faults and assured that they are being addressed.
Improvements Ahead of Main UTME
JAMB stated that lessons learned from the mock exam will be used to improve the main UTME scheduled to begin soon.
Measures being taken include:
Strengthening technical infrastructure
Enhancing server capacity
Providing additional support to CBT centres
Reassurance to Candidates
The examination body reassured candidates that the glitches encountered during the mock will not affect the main UTME.
It urged candidates to remain calm and continue their preparations, emphasizing that the purpose of the mock is to identify and fix such issues.
Final Word
While acknowledging minor setbacks, JAMB maintains that the mock UTME was largely successful and one of the best conducted in recent times.
With improvements underway, the board is optimistic about delivering a smoother and more efficient main UTME for candidates nationwide.
