Don Jazzy Explains Why He Hasn't Remarried After Divorce

 

Nigerian music producer and Mavin Records founder Don Jazzy has opened up about why he has not remarried since his divorce 18 years ago.

In a candid interview, Don Jazzy, whose real name is Michael Collins Ajereh, revealed that his focus on his music career was a major factor that led to the breakdown of his previous marriage to UK-based model and writer Michelle Jackson.

"Music became a priority instead of my family," Don Jazzy admitted, acknowledging that his dedication to his craft took a toll on his relationship at the time. The producer got married at the age of 20 but divorced just two years later when he was 22 years old.

Now 41, Don Jazzy said he has been hesitant to remarry, explaining that he is still scarred from the experience of his failed first marriage. "I was very young when I got married, and the divorce was quite traumatic for me," he shared.

The Mavin boss emphasized that he is not against the idea of marriage, but he wants to ensure he is in the right frame of mind and stage of life before committing to another relationship. "I don't want to rush into it again and end up making the same mistakes," Don Jazzy said.

Instead, Don Jazzy has chosen to focus on building his music empire and nurturing the careers of the artists signed to his label. He remains open to the possibility of remarrying in the future, but for now, the producer is content with his professional accomplishments and personal growth.
