North Central APC Forum Warns Against Nationwide Protest, Asks Protesters to Stay Off Region

The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has warned against plans by some groups and individuals to organize a nationwide protest against the administration of President Bola Tinubu.

The forum's Chairman, Alhaji Saleh Mandung Zazzaga, stated that such a decision would be counterproductive and harmful to the progress of the country at this critical moment. He called on the organizers to have a rethink and retrace their steps.

Zazzaga said President Tinubu is trying his best to reposition the country on the path of growth, and urged Nigerians to support him rather than distract the administration with protests. He claimed that those calling for the protest are not doing so out of love for the country, but for their own selfish reasons and to score cheap political points, with many of them being sponsored by enemies of the country and the government.

The chairman strongly warned the protesters not to contemplate staging the protest in the North Central region due to the security challenges currently facing the region. He stated that the region, and the North in general, is going through issues like kidnappings, banditry, and other criminal activities, which the president is working to solve.

Zazzaga warned that any protest in the region could be hijacked by hoodlums to cause mayhem and threaten the lives and properties of law-abiding citizens. He also noted that protests in the region often take an ethno-religious dimension, leading to violence and killings between Christians and Muslims.

The APC forum chairman called on all members across the North Central region to mobilize and campaign against any form of protest. He also urged the region's governors, religious leaders, traditional rulers, and other influential figures to advise their constituents against participating in such protests due to the delicate security situation
