Opposition Leaders Urged to Unite Against Tinubu in 2027 Presidential Election
Salihu Lukman, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman, has called for an alliance between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso to defeat incumbent President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Lukman believes that by uniting, these opposition figures can "chase out" Tinubu and his APC party.
The former APC chieftain made these remarks in the aftermath of the 2023 general elections, where Tinubu emerged victorious. Lukman argues that a collaborative effort from Atiku, Obi, Kwankwaso, and potentially other opposition figures like Rotimi Amaechi, is necessary to unseat Tinubu and the APC in 2027
