Political Shake-Up: Four Aides to Governor Obaseki Resign and Leave PDP Ahead of Edo Gubernatorial Election

In a significant political shift, four key aides to Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki have resigned from their positions and the People's Democratic Party (PDP) just two weeks before the gubernatorial election. The resignations include Osayande Emenya, Henry Osaheni Ukato, Efosa Edo-Osagie, and Timothy Edokpolor, all former Senior Special Assistants to the governor.

The aides cited dissatisfaction with their tenure, highlighting issues such as non-payment of salaries and the marginalization of long-standing party members. They expressed that the principles of equity, fairness, and justice, which they valued, were no longer upheld within the party.

Dr. Pamela Archer, who served as Special Adviser to the Owan East Local Government Council, also stepped down, citing a lack of inclusiveness in decision-making processes. Her resignation reflects broader concerns about governance and collaboration within the council. This development marks a notable change in the political landscape of Edo State as the election approaches
