Zubairu Confident El-Kanemi Warriors Will Improve in NPFL Second Round

El-Kanemi Warriors' technical adviser, Aliyu Zubairu, has expressed optimism about his team's performance in the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season. Currently positioned fifth with 29 points, Zubairu acknowledges the team's commendable return to the NPFL after promotion from the Nigeria National League (NNL). He notes, "So far, the team has performed averagely well considering the fact that the team just got promoted from NNL, but nonetheless, I will say the team has not performed badly even though there is still a big vacuum for improvement."

Reflecting on the first half of the season, Zubairu credits the team's unbeaten run to a strong collective structure rather than individual performances. He emphasizes, "We don't build players; we build structure," highlighting the importance of a disciplined and cohesive team approach.

Looking ahead, Zubairu sets a realistic target for the team to finish among the top five at the end of the season, aiming to achieve this without exerting undue pressure on the players. He states, "The ultimate target at the end of the season is to finish among the first five. I think that target is more realistic and easily achievable without putting too much pressure on the players and the team as a whole."

As the second half of the season approaches, El-Kanemi Warriors are poised to build on their solid foundation, with Zubairu's leadership and strategic focus on team structure and discipline serving as key factors in their pursuit of a strong finish.
