Amaewhule Accuses Governor Fubara of Constitutional Arrogance After Enacting Laws Without Consent
In a significant political development, Martin Amaewhule, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, has accused Governor Siminialayi Fubara of considering himself "above the constitution" after the assembly enacted three laws without the governor's assent.
The bills, which include the Rivers State Education (Return of Schools) (Amendment) Bill, were passed under Section 100(5) of the Nigerian Constitution.
Amaewhule criticized Fubara's alleged indolence and ineptitude, asserting that the state's progress cannot be hindered by the governor's inaction.
