Court Summons Tunji-Ojo and AGF Over Proposed Expatriate Employment Levy
A Federal High Court in Abuja has summoned Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, and Lateef Fagbemi, Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), to appear on January 16.
The court is reviewing a motion filed by the Incorporated Trustees of New Kosol Welfare Initiative, seeking to halt the implementation of the proposed Expatriate Employment Levy (EEL).
This new taxation regime, which imposes significant fees on companies employing expatriates, has been labeled an "anti-people policy" by the plaintiffs, who argue it could negatively impact Nigeria's economy
