Darkness Hits Presidential Villa as Vandals Steal TCN Cable

The Presidential Villa in Abuja is currently experiencing power outages following the theft of a 132-kilovolt underground cable by vandals.

The incident, which occurred near Millennium Park, has disrupted over 60% of the power supply to the Federal Capital Territory.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) confirmed that the vandals made off with 40 meters of cable, impacting several areas including Maitama, Wuse, and Asokoro.

TCN has mobilized engineers to repair the damage and restore power promptly, while expressing concern over the ongoing issue of cable vandalism affecting electricity delivery across the country.
