Tragic Incident in Lagos: Drunken Driver Rams into Soldiers, Four Feared Dead

 

In a devastating event on January 31, 2025, four soldiers from the Myoung Barracks in the Morocco area of Shomolu, Lagos, are feared dead after a suspected drunken driver crashed into them during their morning jogging routine. The soldiers were engaged in their monthly physical training when the incident occurred.

Eyewitness accounts indicate that the vehicle, driven by three young men, was speeding when it struck the soldiers. Following the collision, the occupants of the car attempted to flee but were apprehended by bystanders and subsequently beaten, with reports of one of them being stabbed during the altercation. The vehicle was also vandalized by the angry crowd.

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the incident, which has caused significant panic among local residents. As investigations continue, authorities are yet to release further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the driver's actions or any potential charges.
