UI Students Protest 82-Day Power Outage at UCH [PHOTOS]

 

Students from the University of Ibadan staged a peaceful protest on January 22, 2025, against the persistent 82-day power outage at the University College Hospital (UCH).

 The protest, led by Students' Union President Bolaji Aweda, highlighted the severe impact on students' living conditions and academic activities.

 The power cut resulted from UCH's inability to pay its electricity bills to the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC), which demanded half of the N3.78 million owed before reconnecting the hospital123.

 The students have suspended their protest temporarily, setting a Monday deadline for power restoration.
