NELFUND Begins Payment of Outstanding Upkeep Allowances to 11,685 Students

 

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced the payment of unpaid upkeep allowances to 11,685 students, providing relief to beneficiaries affected by earlier delays.

According to the Fund, the payments are part of ongoing efforts to address outstanding obligations under the student loan scheme and ensure that eligible students receive their full entitlements. The move reflects NELFUND’s commitment to accountability and student welfare.

The affected students, drawn from various tertiary institutions across the country, had previously raised concerns over delayed upkeep payments despite successful loan approval. NELFUND stated that verification processes have been completed, allowing for the release of the outstanding funds.
