Suspected kidnappers have fatally attacked two traditional rulers in Ekiti.

Suspected kidnappers have fatally attacked two traditional rulers in Ekiti. The monarchs, Oba Olatunde Samuel Olushola of Imojo-Ekiti and Oba David Babatunde Ogunsakin of Esun-Ekiti, were returning from a security meeting in Irele-Ekiti. They were in a vehicle driven by their colleague, the Alara of Ikole Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba, when the assailants ambushed them in Ikole Local Government Area of Ekiti State on Monday. Regrettably, Oba Olushola and Oba Ogunsakin lost their lives in the attack, while Oba Fatoba managed to escape the scene. Michael Ogungbemi, the chairman of Ajoni Local Council Development Area, confirmed the incident, stating that the gunmen aimed to kidnap the three traditional rulers. The state police spokesman, Sunday Abutu, has been contacted for further details.
