Davido Launches Own Social Media App 'Chatter'

 

Renowned Afrobeats superstar Davido has launched his own social media platform called "Chatter." The musician announced the launch of the new app on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Friday, July 12, 2024.

Davido co-owns the Chatter app with his close friend Sir Banko. The platform is described as a "social audiovisual utility" that aims to connect content creators with a vibrant community and amplify their voices. 

This marks Davido's third major internet-based project in the last eight months. Earlier this year, the singer had introduced his own cryptocurrency called $DAVIDO coin, which unfortunately crashed just days after its launch, drawing criticism from cryptocurrency enthusiasts who labeled it a "scam" and "rug-pull." 

Chatter is now available worldwide on the App Store. Davido encouraged his fans to download the app and reach out to the official Chatter accounts on X and Instagram to obtain invites. 

The launch of Davido's own social media platform comes as the latest move by the influential Afrobeats artist to expand his business ventures beyond just music. With Chatter, Davido is positioning himself to directly connect with his fanbase and provide a new outlet for content creators.
