Abuja Airport's Second Runway Contract Revoked Over N532 Billion Variation Request
The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has revoked the contract for the construction of the second runway at Abuja International Airport due to a significant cost escalation.
Initially valued at N90 billion, the contractor requested a variation of N532 billion, which the ministry deemed excessive and fraudulent.
Keyamo's decision aims to prevent financial irregularities and ensure transparency by opening the project to fresh bidding.
This move aligns with efforts to maintain fiscal responsibility and prevent potential corruption in major infrastructure projects
