Ekweremadu’s Wife Released from UK Prison, Returns to Nigeria

 

Beatrice Ekweremadu, the wife of former Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu, has been released from a UK prison and returned to Nigeria. 

She was sentenced to four years and six months in May 2023 for her role in an organ trafficking case, but served only half of her sentence due to UK prison regulations.

 Her release has sparked celebrations in her hometown in Enugu, Nigeria. 

Ike Ekweremadu remains incarcerated, serving a nine-year and eight-month sentence for his involvement in the same case
